Lindsay and Melanie are getting married! Not only that, Brian’s just won two tickets to the Miami White Party! Unfortunately, the two big events fall on the same weekend. However, Brian promises to send a postcard. Big news comes in threes – as Emmett announces that he’s saved enough to finally purchase the surgically enhanced butt that he’s always wanted.

Leda throws a raucous stagette party for the brides to be. Mysterious Marilyn is there to warn the couple against planning any major events that weekend; as everyone knows, Mercury is in Retrograde. Over the next few days, Mel and Lindsay try to ignore the tranny psychic’s ominous warning. But it’s hard to ignore – their venue and caterer have been shut down for health regulations and their rings have been stolen!

It seems Mercury is out to ruin more than just Mel and Lindsay’s wedding. Ted and Michael’s friendship is being put to the test. Ted trusted Michael to buy their joint wedding gift for the couple, and is not pleased with Michael’s choice. It seems one man’s exotic fertility goddess is another man’s tacky, embarrassing knick-knack. Emmett’s suffering too, his boyfriend George thinks anyone whose self worth depends on his ass, is an ass. Even Vic has been cursed by the cosmos. The government is reevaluating his disability – he may have to find work. Debbie gives Vic’s rusty chef skills a shot at the diner. Unfortunately, he lets everyone down: starving patrons, Deb, and himself. The final blow comes when the cleaners ruin the brides’ dresses. Lindsay calls the whole thing off, speaking the unspeakable: “We’re not meant to get married – because we’re gay.”

Melanie echoes Lindsay’s words to Brian, “because we’re gay”. That’s all Brian needs to hear. Brian corrals the troops: Vic, Debbie, Justin, Michael, Ted, and Emmett. They’re going to save this wedding. Who knows weddings better than fags? Emmett’s fruitless search for a venue ends when George offers a beautiful wing of his mansion. George would also like to pay for elaborate decorations, but Emmett insists he can cover the costs. He’s going to use his butt money! Since the diner episode, Vic has had trouble believing in himself when it comes to the wedding cake. Debbie uses her unique methods of persuasion to get Vic baking again. Justin really feels like a part of the “family” pulling together for the happy couple. Brian has invited him to revel in the hedonism of the White Party - but Justin can’t bear to miss the big event.

The girls are shocked to be stirred out of bed by Brian. They’re even more shocked as they arrive outside Schickel mansion - where they learn they’re soon to be married. Brian has even managed to obtain the exact rings that Melanie and Lindsay had designed for themselves. Brian offers his Miami tickets to Lindsay as a honeymoon, but Lindsay tells him to hang on to them. They share a private moment of respect and understanding for each other. Lindsay needs to have this public ritual of her commitment to Melanie. Brian needs to be true to himself, to indulge himself in Miami.

At the wedding, Lindsay and Melanie express their love and devotion in such a way that every eye begins to tear. Ted and Michael put aside their petty gift argument and beg each other for forgiveness. Vic’s cake is a hit, too; it’s a perfect celebration of commitment within a larger, loving family. And just to make sure everything’s right in the world, Brian revels in resplendent white, surrounded by an adoring White Wedding Party of his own.
