Episode 207 Recap

Screencaps: 001 002 003 004

Michael decides to continue dating Ben – despite the fact that he is HIV positive. Michael believes he can handle it, but no one else does – least of all his mother Debbie. Debbie has been through the worst of it once before with her brother, Vic. Brian, Ted and Emmett also think it’s too much responsibility for Michael to take on.

Lindsay and Melanie need more money for their wedding. Lindsay’s parents have already funded 3 weddings for her straight sister, so it only seems right that they help out Lindsay and Melanie now. Ron and Nancy Peterson disagree. They only pay for “real” weddings. Lindsay reaches out by inviting her parents to a civilized party – one she hopes will prove how mature and responsible she and Melanie can be.

Being a big internet porn star is swelling Emmett’s head in more ways than one. He presents Ted with a list of demands befitting a star of his magnitude. Ted refuses – “Where would you be without my website?” “Where would your website be without me?” After they cool off, the boys admit they do need each other, and it’s time to Jerk@work (.net) once again.

Lindsay’s parents cancel on Lindsay and Melanie’s party. Melanie sees through their flimsy alibi and guilts them into attending. However, by the time they arrive, the party has given up on putting on airs of responsibility, and become a rocking bash complete with Brian’s drugs, and Leda’s strap-on! The Petersons leave with all their worst suspicions confirmed. Lindsay can relax and not try to be something she isn’t. Her family of friends accepts her just as she truly is.

Vic is offended at her sister Debbie’s prejudice against HIV positive Ben. Debbie’s sorry, she just can’t risk that kind of suffering again. Justin naively relishes his HIV negative relationship with Brian. He figures they’re living worry-free: they could even fuck bareback if they wanted. Brian disagrees. He gets Justin all worked up at the thought of it, and then leaves him – in order to teach him a lesson. Brian expects to have lots of sex, that’s why he’s always safe. Disregarding the opinions of all others, Michael’s getting hot and heavy with Ben. That is, until he’s in the bathroom, confronted by all of Ben’s medication. The reality hits Michael and he has to say no. Ben tries to sound sincere when he says, “Better to know now, before someone gets hurt”.
